• {It’s in the Details} Chair Decor – Because Chairs Deserve to Look Pretty Too!

    I know I’ve posted on chairware before, but since chairs are the perfect canvas for you to add some pretty, and because there are so many ways to do it, I think it is worthy of a second post!  Here are some new ways to pretty up your chairs.

    {Chic Update on the Chair Sash}

    Honestly, I was never a big fan of the chair sash. They often look too fussy or cheap.  But take a basic fabric in a classic color and drape it on your chair in a new but simple way and it becomes FAB.

    {Lace & Ruffles}

    There is nothing prettier than a delicate sheer fabric in lace or peachy pink tones. I don’t know which I love more – the lace chair cap or the peach ruffles!

    {Updated Ribbon Chair Decor}

    While ribbon chair decor is not new, I love the way these examples make an aging trend new again.  The way the ribbons are tied on horizontally in the photo on the left and the way the ribbons are really long but chopped off at different lengths on the right are a new take on the ribbon chair decor.  And joining the Mr. and Mrs. chairs with a garland on top of the ribbons is a lovely touch.

    Do you love seeing chairs prettied-up?  Or are you tired of chairware?  If you like chair decor, what is your favorite way of seeing it done?

    Also, I’m taking requests on my weekly features!  Do you have a planning problem or issue you need addressed, a DIY you’d like to see, a color palette you need an inspiration board for, or a detail you want featured?  Leave it in the comments or head over to my facebook page and let me know.

      I’m in the early planning stages and am trying to decide on a color scheme. I think I’ve narrowed it down to two options —

      (1) dark purple (like plum), Carolina Blue (similar to sky or powder blue) and a shade of silver (not sure yet what shade…but thinking darker like grey?)

      (2) two shades of purple (light and dark), yellow, and silver

      I’m really partial to Carolina blue, but I also like palettes that have both warm and cool colors, hence yellow instead of blue in the second scheme.

      Is an inspiration board possible for one or both of these color palettes? Thanks so much in advance! I love this blog and have been reading it non-stop since I got engaged.

       Getting our morning exercise in at @lacma. Calvin loves to walk the lights. If you missed my post on the blog about it last week, Urban Light is a great place to take your little walkers -- it's clean and empty before #lacma opens. LACMA is probably my favorite spot in the city to take littles of all ages -- lots to do and very well maintained (which is important when you have a kid that likes to pick up and put everything in his mouth). Head to my blog and search LACMA to see more. #OLDsfaveplacesinLA // outfit note: both the romper (summer) and cardi (fall) are from @juneandjanuary and I just got my order from the fall line and everything is darling. I love the soft material, the heathered styles for fall/winter, and the side snap tees, hooded rompers, and October hats are I just wish I would have ordered more of the pants for Calvin and baby 3. Staple pieces that can be layered and worn for a long time. #whatcalvinwears #juneandjanuary #freshlypicked #calvins2ndyear
       Since I couldn't attend #nybridalweek in person this season, I'll be sharing and regraming some of my favorite looks throughout the week. Love the style of this veil and big bouquet paired with a sweetheart neckline and a bare neck from the @annebargebride show.
