• {Real Wedding} Anna & Bryan: Woodsy + Rustic Green DIY Wedding

This wedding is so “Twilight Woodsy” I would have sworn it was in the Pacific Northwest instead of its actual Maine location. I love all of the mossy and rustic woodland details combined with the green color palette.  Lots of great details in this one my friends!

Directly after the ceremony we did a sawing of a log. It is a German tradition and symbolizes that now as husband and wife the couple works on problems together and solves them together.

As escort cards we sliced branches and my husband wood burned the table numbers on them. We included both the numbers and also the spelled out word in German. I hand wrote all the guests names on the other side of the wood slice.

For us it was all the personal touches and DIY moments of our wedding that made our wedding US. Everyone knows I am a big knitter so it was important for me to include hand knitted elements into the wedding. Also the fact that I am German, Bryan is American and we were able to have German and American traditions, people, food and beverages come together in one big celebration.
Don’t you love all of those green woodsy details!?  And the incorporation of the German tradition of sawing a log fit in perfectly with the style of the day and made it so personal.  Love that.
{Vendors} Venue: backyard of the groom’s parents home in Ellsworth, ME / Caterer: Crocker House / Cake: Montes / Cake topper: Etsy seller RedLightStudio / tent: Wallace Tents / Photography: Ashley Therese Photography (the most amazing, friendly and talented wedding photographer there is :) / Music: Wavelength / Florals: centerpieces were DIY, bouquets and boutonnieres were from Ingrids in Bangor / Gown:  Oleg Cassini from David’s Bridal / Bridesmaids’ dresses: David’s Bridal / Bride’s wedding band and engagement ring: the diamond from my engagement ring was my mother-in-laws. It was a Christmas gift from my father in law quiet a few years back. She wore it a couple of time but kept getting caught in things and scratching things because it was on a higher setting. So she had put it in her jewelry box and left it there. When Bryan told his parents that he was planing on proposing to me she asked him if he would like to give me that ring. Later on we had it reset since it was to big for me and I like white gold better then yellow gold. Bryan and I designed a setting together and later on had a custom wedding band made to fit. All this work was done by Jewelry Design in Danbury, CT / Invitations: DIY / Favors: we had pint glasses with a logo, wedding date and thank you/Danke print from Favor Favor

    • Has it been too long since you saw a picture of Calvin? Yeah, I thought so. I love this arrow scarf/swaddle blanket from @covetedthings. And that swirl of hair on Cal's head... We've named it Tropical Storm Julio.
Calvin and I went with the boys to drop Charlie off at his last day of school for this year. One of his teachers is retiring and I wanted to give her a hug and a box of @milkjarcookies myself, and let her peek at the baby. Charlie was so proud to show off his baby brother to his teachers
