I love a good ‘ole classic Southern wedding, don’t you?  And there is so much fun energy in these photos, I just had to share them with you.  Everyone should be this happy on their wedding day!

Advice for couples planning now?  Enjoy it. Don’t stress over the little things. Its just one day. The main goal is to marry your best friend.

Our venue, Patten Chapel at the University of Tennessee in Chattanooga, was the perfect place for us to get married. It was very important for us to be married in a church and Patten Chapel was just the most beautiful, intimate venue.

Almost everything was DIY by us and our family.  We designed our own invites, and my mom hand-drew them (she also drew our guestbook thumbprint tree!)  My mom, grandmother, and two aunts did all of my florals with me.  And my grandmother made all of the bow ties by hand: my groom’s was made from pieces of my dress.  We are just SO blessed to have so much personal involvement by our family.

I loved every single detail about our wedding. I put a lot of thought in how I wanted our wedding to look and how I wanted to represent myself and Joel.  I love classic, vintage things and I am a very sentimental person, so I loved having my family involved in every detail; that just made everything so much more special.

Doesn’t this just seem like the happiest day?  I love how much the family helped create this wedding day for Briana and Joel and how much was DIY without seeming like it was DIY: DIY done right and done well!  Aren’t those bow ties fabulous!?  What is your favorite detail?

First family of five outing: picnic, friends, jazz, champagne, crazy boys. We did it! Thanks for the pic to prove it @jsmithla. #fredrickpartyoffive #OLDsfaveplacesinla The windows are open and a breeze is blowing in the smell of the night blooming jasmine outside. Calvin is napping. Quincy is nursing. Chili is cooking. I got decent sleep last night and had a productive morning. We have family plans with friends this evening. The wine is chilling. I got these flowers from Trader Joes for $7 and the ranunculus are the prettiest yellow. They reminded me of someone which reminded me to stop and appreciate every single thing I just listed and more. Every giggle, every smile, every breath, every cuddle. Every quiet moment. Every loud moment. Every single moment. Everything.
