• Pregnancy Wardrobe Essentials from Kiss My Tulle

Today’s Lovely Ever After post is for you ladies who are pregnant, or plan to be soon, from my friend & fellow blogger (and current preggo) Cris of Kiss My Tulle. Kiss My Tulle is a website devoted to helping engaged couples create the wedding of their dreams on a manageable budget, and this post follows that same budget-friendly, practical advice. Cris is sharing her pregnant (and plus-sized) must-haves today.  Take it away, Cris!

I’m a little over 5 months pregnant and HUGE. Like, in the last 2 years I managed to lose 60+ pounds and (I’m not exaggerating) I think I have gained them all back – mostly during my first miserable trimester. I was nauseous 24/7 for 12 weeks and the only thing that made me feel better was eating McDonald’s French fries. A LOT of McDonald’s French fries. So none of my clothes fit and I’ve had to buy some new clothes to accommodate my new weight (and my new baby bump). Here are my favorites (they’re VERY budget-friendly):

pregnant and plus-sized must haves from kiss my tulleSweet Dreams Maternity Wear Maternity Leggings // Maternity Cropped Denim Jacket // Maternity Chevron-Striped Maxi Skirt // Maternity Polka-Dot Side-Shirred Tank // Naughty Monkey Bullet Knee-High Boot // Quiksilver Azalea Shirt // Basic Athletic Rib Racerback 2×1 Tank Top

Thanks, Cris.  I had a very similar experience during my first trimester, although I just ate a lot of carbs to battle my nausea.  I love Cris’s wardrobe picks.  Leggings, tanks, maxi skirts & dresses, and ballet flats were also staples of mine.  I also extended my pre-preggo wardrobe with one of these (actually, a couple) which helped with work pants and jeans for a while before I wore maternity pants (and for a few weeks postpartum as well).

I’m currently 8 months pregnant. My favorite thing is just some v-neck maternity tshirts from target. They’re around $12 and i know i can wear them after I have the baby.

      Thanks for having me, Chandra!

And Haley – I saw those! Are they comfy? I was worried about the fit.

I am now 39 weeks into my pregnancy, I can certainly agree with the leggings (esp Gap Body) and maxi skirts. Luckily I like to wear boxy or flowy tops normally, so I have paired almost all my shirts & tanks with the BeMaternity tanks (Target), mostly as undershirts to cover the belly. All of my maxi dresses from before fit now too, and are even cuter with the big bump 😉 And much to my husband’s dismay I almost always wear a cardigan with any tank…*he thinks cardigans are too grandma-y 😉
I was blessed to not have any swelling so my Toms and Sanuk flip flops have been staples on my feet.

I do have to say I am spoiled in CA since my sister sent me all of her maternity clothes (from 3 pregnancies, from all of Chicago’s seasons)! When I do buy new, I go cheap maternity..Target, Old Navy, H&M..and Motherhood.

    • Can a person be your happy place? Because I'm pretty certain that Quincy is mine ☺️✨ #quincyrhys #thatdimpletho This week was a rough one. I feel like I say that every week but this one really was. Today alone had me at my breaking point. All three of my kids seemed hell bent on driving me crazy. Quincy literally wouldn't let me put him down or leave the room without a major scream-cry fest. He rode around on the fuss bus allllll day. Tropical storm Calvin left destruction in his wake everywhere he went (if you follow me on snap/stories you got a little sampling but that was nowhere near the extent of it). At one point I went into a room away from my kids and sat in a chair and cried. Within three minutes one of them found me (of course) gave me a hug, and we were all better (except Calvin -- I think this is his permanent state ). This photo is my version of thinking happy thoughts. Bougainvillea vibes ✌️️✨
Putting the finishing touches on the boys' bedroom and had to stop to admire the magic that the morning light and their @babyjives mobile was making. ✨☁️⭐️❤️✨#charlieandcalsroomredo You know what is a great motivator? Not wanting to be outdone by your big bro. Cause look who's pulling himself up, so he can keep up #quincysmilestones #calvinandquincy #lawdhelpme #charlieandcalsroomredo
