When today’s wedding landed in my inbox, I was drawn to the bride’s unique BHLDN gown. It fits perfectly with the vintage handmade wedding and all of it’s lovely details. But what I love most is how you can feel the love and fun when you look at the photos. Isn’t that what weddings are really all about?

The inspiration for our wedding really came from the location. We chose to get married in Hillsdale, NY where my family has vacationed since I was a child. I wanted the wedding to represent all the things I love about the area and really take advantage of all it has to offer. We went with a rustic farmers market themed wedding and were able to use lots of local farms for food and flowers. It was perfect to incorporate lots of personal touches and keep things relaxed.

My favorite moment was when my knees finally stopped shaking as I walked down the aisle – once I saw my husband all the nervousness disappeared. My husband says his favorite moment was when we were pronounced man and wife.

My advice for planning couples is not to let planning take over your life. And put your fiancé in charge of motivating tasks like the alcohol.

We DIY’d all of the signs, the canned jam favors, the dip-dyed bags for favors, and the ribbon garlands and backdrop.

    What made your wedding YOU?

Having our wedding in a place we love, being married by our best friend, not following all the traditions, and personalized cornhole made our wedding us.

I love that the couple chose a personal venue, incorporated things that enhanced and complimented that venue, and put a lot of fun and love into their day. Any couple that gives homemade jam AND cotton candy as favors is my kind of couple. And how fabulous is this bride’s style? Loving her choice of gown and headpiece. Congrats to Jenny & Nick!

    • On weekends, we nurse, cuddle, and nap together and it is my favorite. With the other boys I was always trying to get stuff done while they were napping. Since this is my last baby, I'm trying to really soak up all the moments I can -- one day I'll have plenty of time to get stuff done. For now I'll just be a hot mess that made the most of this baby time. Whenever I get a bit anxious about not getting things done, I re-read my favorite poem about motherhood: Mother, oh mother, come shake out your cloth! Empty the dustpan, poison the moth, Hang out the washing and butter the bread, Sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking! Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby, loo). Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo). The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue? (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.) Oh, cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby. Babies don't keep. Song for a Fifth Child By Ruth Hulburt Hamilton #battlefieldmotherhood #mommaandquincyselfies Saturday mornings are about bros, basketball and babywearing. Side note: loving the ring sling for babywearing in this heatwave. It's the least hot of all of my babywearing options. #mywildbird #babywearing #quincyrhys #OLDsfavefinds
This is the sky over LA right now. Apocalyptic, filter free and full of smoke Stay safe and indoors #sandfire #losangeles Picking up Charlie just got a whole lot easier for me (and a whole lot pokey-er for Quincy ) thanks to our new @uppababy G-Link #thefredrickboys
