Yellow + Grey Wedding At Home | Chantal Marie Photography | Oh Lovely Day

You know how I always say “make your wedding YOU?” Well, this couple loves entertaining and throwing dinner parties so much they decided to literally make their wedding one big dinner party and hosted it at their own home. I super love that! And once you see the decor and personal touches and the bride’s fabulous style, you’ll super love it too.

What was the inspiration behind your wedding day?

My husband, Glen, and I wanted to get married at our home. We have a beautiful space and it is the place that is most dear to our hearts. We love entertaining and being surrounded with friends and family.

    Advice for couples planning now?

Use Pinterest to your advantage. Let the wedding be representative of you and your spouse as a couple. Relax and have a good time (it’s only one day!)

Your favorite moment of or memory from the day?

Walking out to a soft glowing dinner table with all of our family and friends laughing, enjoying the party to an acoustic musician. It was our vision coming to life.

How did you make your wedding you?

For our wedding day, we wanted our guests to be a part of our biggest dinner party ever, feel welcome and comfortable, and most importantly get to know each other.

Our wedding started with an extended cocktail hour, followed by the ceremony, dinner at a singular long dinner table, ending with desserts, cocktails, and dancing. The cocktail hour was in the entry patio featuring a playlist of Glen’s favorite artist, Bruce Springsteen, and signature cocktails courtesy of our friends at Hawthorne & Julep in Kansas City, MO. The dinner party was in our yard with a long table and passed buffet-style dining with intimate lighting and an amazing acoustic guitarist, Glenn Nowak. Post dinner party, we had desserts and a whiskey bar by the pool, next to a DJ-hosted dance floor.

I love how personalized this wedding is to the couple – from the venue to the playlist to the cocktails. And it was absolutely beautiful, right? I’m a huge fan of the “one long reception table.” And the bride’s pouf accessory – I *wish* I had worn a fabulous pouf on my wedding day. It’s so fun! Congrats to Elizabeth & Glen!

What a lovely wedding! You looked so beautiful. Do you mind sharing what the specific name of your Kate Spade necklace is? Thank you very much!

#tbt to a year ago today -- our first family neighborhood walk selfie as a family of 4 with a teeeeny Calvin in my favorite @sollybabywrap. Can't believe we'll be doing this again, but Calvin will be in that tricycle and Charlie will be on his scooter or a bike, with another (yet to be named) baby boy in my wrap! Speaking of names, naming a 3rd boy is super hard! We have a couple of ideas, but I'd love to hear your favorite baby boy names. Everyone is asking if it will be another "C" name b/c of Charlie & Calvin, and I don't think so, but bonus points for great "C" names just in case! #timeflies #wheresthepausebutton
Taking care of your skin can be especially tricky during pregnancy when hormones give it an identity crisis and you can no longer use your favorite products due to the ingredients being unsafe for pregnancy or nursing. I've partnered with @juicebeauty to give 3 (!) lucky followers a set of what I've been using this pregnancy and have really been loving the results: the Green Apple Pregnancy Peel, the new Stem Cellular Overnight Night Cream, the Stem Cellular Moisturizer and the Green Apple Exfoliating Cleanser. Although only the peel is specifically made with pregnant women in mind, all are pregnancy safe. But as with anything, check the ingredients with your OB to be sure it's right for you. So here's what you need to do to win a set for yourself: 1. Follow BOTH @ohlovelyday and @juicebeauty 2. Leave a comment that you follow both on THIS photo in @ohlovelyday's feed. 3. For a bonus entry, either repost this photo with the hashtag #OLDxJuiceBeauty (must be public) or tag 3 friends below (must be real friends, not celebrities or bloggers or shops you don't know personally (I hate when people I don't know personally tag me in giveaways!) Giveaway starts now and ends on 9/7/15. Winners will be tagged in the comments of this post and must DM or email me to claim their prize. Good luck! This giveaway is in no way sponsored, endorsed or administered by, or associated with, Instagram.
