• Little Things Go A Long Way

little things go a long way...

I just spent a really nice week having my mom in town for a visit and it gave me a chance to stop and realize how much little things can go a long way in life. Like the blueberries that I turned into a coffee cake that we ate for breakfast for days. Or the new bamboo shades we hung while she was here that look so much better than the ugly white blinds we had before. Or the extra hour of sleep I got each morning because she got up to play with Charlie… Little things really go a long way in making life better.

Another new discovery I made recently was Tide Pods and Gain Flings. All you do is toss one into your washer – no more messes and spills, no more hurting my back pulling a heavy liquid detergent bottle off my high shelf. They help me get through my family’s laundry quicker and easier. It’s the little things that go a long way! You can find Tide Pods and Gain Flings at Target (which you know is one of my favorite places).

I LOVE the tide pods. Such a great idea. It is nice for us since we rent and I no longer have to lug the liquid jug up and down the stairs.

since you mention the bamboo blinds, will you ever give us a tour of your new place?

hi Haley! yes, I really want to get a tour of the new place up soon. Since I got pregnant and have had a really rough and sick first trimester (and am still a bit sick into the 2nd) it has delayed my progress a bit. I have a little left to do and have to get the place photographed. but I promise to share! and I do share bits and pieces on my instagram (@ohlovelyday). thanks for asking :)

    • Between my #LHSadventures takeover and my current #OLDgoodiesguidegiveaway there are lots of new followers this week. So I thought I would take a hot sec to introduce myself while Charlie (my 4 year old) is in preschool and Calvin (my 5 month old) is napping. I'm Chandra, wife and momma of two sweet boys living in Los Angeles. I write a blog called Oh Lovely Day (inspiration for your wedding, home, and child), reluctantly practice law on occasion, and basically see how many things I can juggle before I drop it all on my head. I'm currently pumping, eating breakfast 3 hours after I woke up, catching up on emails, and typing this Instagram. I like to keep it real because it takes too much energy to fake it, plus I think we do ourselves and other mothers a disservice when we aren't honest about our experiences. I share ideas, DIY (#ohlovelyDIY), mom tips and tricks, products and clothes I use and love (#whatcalvinwears #momandcalvinapproved) places in LA we love (#OLDsfaveplacesinLA) attempts at funny antecdotes (because you've gotta try and have a laugh when things get hard and messy), and a little bit of my own life. Sometimes I try to start movements like #nourishwithoutshame. I'm by no means an expert mom (or wedding planner or marriage counselor or home stylist or person in general) but I've learned a few things and believe there's no point in reinventing the wheel when some guy who I can't remember because I can't remember shit already did that. So I share. Maybe it will help you. Maybe it will make you feel less alone on a day you're struggling. Maybe it will make you feel really good about yourself because you're doing it way better than me. Regardless of why you're here, I'm glad you are. Thanks for following along! So head over to @littlehipsqueaks blog (link in their profile) to see my family's favorite adventure in our neighborhood and my blog to enter my current giveaway of some of my favorite things for moms and littles (link in my profile). And because I bet you haven't heard it enough today: you're doing a great job and you look really pretty.
I'm honored to be sharing one of my family's favorite neighborhood adventures over on @littlehipsqueaks blog tomorrow + I'll be taking over their Instagram as well. It's my first IG takeover guys! And I couldn't be more thrilled to be doing it for a brand and lady that I adore. So be sure to check it out, okay? #lhsadventures #theadventuresofcharlieandcalvin
