Spring Family Photoshoot | Oh Lovely Day | Photos by Jennifer Roper

I recently realized that I never shared my favorite of all of our family photoshoots, from when Charlie was 18 months old. Since it is officially spring and this shoot captures spring in Los Angeles, I thought I would share it today. Plus it gives me an excuse to go back and look at old family photos. We did this shoot at LA’s Runyon Canyon, which is one of our favorite spots in the city. We like to pick our favorite places for family photoshoots, like this one at LACMA. We even had our engagement photos at the beach in Santa Monica. That way not only is a special time in your life documented in the shoot, but one of your favorite places is as well.

I remember this being the first family shoot where Charlie wasn’t the most cooperative, but the first where I felt comfortable in my own skin after having him. It’s fun to look back and remember what 18 month old Charlie was like, with his faces and his hat – he wore that hat everywhere until it was way too small. It also makes me miss having bangs!

This shoot was featured on On To Baby ages ago, and you can see the full feature here if you’d like.

    • My mom came to town to help for a week (YAY! ) and I got to leave the house alone for the first time in ages today. And I got my hair did. I feel a bit like a normal person again. Thanks to my mom and husby for holding down the fort while I was gone.
It's like a showdown of breastfeeding pillows over here these days. I was so sore and uncomfortable from breastfeeding the first week that I felt I needed a different pillow. My boppy, while it has the cutest cover made for me by @littleslumber, was the least comfortable. I've been using the My Brest Friend (yes, that's really what it is called) for the last two days and it is a huge improvement! Also pictured is the Dr. Brown's Gia (their bottles are my fave!) but I haven't tried it yet. Which is your favorite bf pillow? And any tips for keeping baby latched to try positions like side bf or laying down? I have a great nurser with a good latch but as soon as I try anything besides cross body while hand expressing he comes off. My back and hands need a little break!
