Today’s rustic wedding in Oregon is beyond beautiful – it’s dreamy. The landscape, the florals, the bride’s style – all so lovely. And captured perfectly by Juliet Ashley Photography. If you love outdoor rustic weddings, this one is for you!

My advice for couples planning now is to remember that it is just a day. The more you can put that it perspective, the more laid back you will be and the more you’ll be able to enjoy yourself. The purpose of the day is to get married and celebrate that love. It’s not about perfection or impressing people.  I got A LOT of help from my friends, so ask for help, make it fun, be gracious.

I had a lot of favorite moments throughout the day, I felt humbled by the kindness and love I felt from all of my guests. The speeches were amazing, so heartfelt and thoughtful. A few friends sang at the wedding and reception and their songs meant so much to us. The culmination of all the love and excitement was the sparkler send off. All the light, cheering and smiles at the end really made my night.

What made the wedding “me” was that it was genuine. I picked all of my favorite things, foods and people and got them in one place. I stayed within budget and used the resources I had to the best of my ability. In the end it was laid back, sentimental and good time, which is just what I wanted.

My husband, Jason Hutchins made all of the benches for our wedding. I want the ceremony to feel like we were in a church, but outside. All the benches were a combination of steel and Port Orford cedar. The arbor that we were married under was made my uncle, and it was a wedding gift. Jason made chalkboards and my friend Sienna did the designs and words on them. My friend and bridesmaid, Ashley Nunes, designed and letter pressed by wedding invitations, drink labels and coasters. She is brilliant and fabulous, I was in love with what she did. Paper cranes were the party favors and decorated the arbor. We had a paper crane making party but they were mostly a labor of love by my bridesmaid Libby. I bought flowers from a local grower (Joan Thorndike) that sells bouquets at the Ashland Farmers Market and ridiculously helpful friends helped arrange bouquets and make boutonnieres.

Isn’t this wedding a DIY and rustic lover’s dream? And what stunning images, especially that solo portrait of the bride. Congrats to Alison and Jason!

    • This dreamboat is six months old today (HOW!!!!??? ) but his momma is so so tired that I'm gonna post another pic soon with his #quincysmonthbymonth stats. Because right now all can manage to do is drink my wine and barely keep my eyes open. But really, he's a dreamboat. That's all I can say. #quincyrhys #fastestsixmonthsofmylife Trying to decide which quote on my workspace motivation wall to follow to get some work done while the kids (hopefully) nap, but it feels like a "punch today in the face" kind of day And you can see a tour of my shared office and Charlie's art room on the blog - go under "home tour" in the sidebar or search art room in search bar.
Rollin with ma homies #squad #thefredrickboys #everythingbutthekitchensink One sick kid, one heat wave, one million ants in our laundry room... You win Monday. Sometimes you just gotta put the work away, or step away from the piles of laundry, and get outside for a reset. Or look at photos of bougainvillea from when you could get outside #wavingthewhiteflagtoday #tomorrowisanewday
