    Relaxed Southern Wedding

Relaxed Southern Wedding | J. Woodberry Photography & The Sonnet House

I love weddings of all kinds, but when you see a couple have a wedding that is so in love, so relaxed, and so enjoying their day – well, that makes it the best kind of wedding. Add the Southern charm of today’s wedding, and you’ve got me hooked. I’m also pretty obsessed with the bride’s long mermaid waves. Read More »

    The Classic Wedding Comeback

The Comeback of the Classic Wedding | Heidi Ryder Photography on Oh Lovely Day

If you’re over all of the bohemian and rustic weddings, don’t worry – 2014 is going to see a classic wedding comeback (anyone else have LL Cool J stuck in their head now – “don’t call it a comeback, I’ve been here for years…”) While boho and rustic are great if that’s your style, many brides are looking for timeless elegance and chic details that only a classic wedding can provide. Here are a few ways to bring back the classic wedding.  Read More »

    Winter White Wedding in Arizona

Winter White Arizona Wedding | Andrew Jade Photography on Oh Lovely Day

It only took one photo from today’s wedding for me to start swooning. But each one is better than the last, showcasing the industrial setting, the rich and elegant decor and attire, and the love and personality of the couple. They all combine to form one fabulous wedding. A perfect winter wedding. Oh, and you must read the story about the couple’s dog below. But first, the bride shares her inspiration for the day: Read More »

Classic New England Wedding: Becky & Paul

Classic New England Wedding | Katie Slater Photography

I love a good classic wedding. One that is timeless, that you can look back on for years to come and it would still be beautiful. Today’s wedding is one of those – with a pretty grey and pink color palette, a stunning cathedral venue (gosh, it makes for some pretty pictures!), and elegant details. And how fabulous are those shoes!? Check out these lovely images from Katie Slater, along with some words from the bride.  Read More »

    Classic Mint + Peach Wedding

Classic Mint and Peach Wedding | photo by Leslie Hollingsworth | Oh Lovely Day

From the moment I laid eyes on these mint green bridesmaid dresses and lovely lush bouquets, I was head over heels in love with this wedding. It only took one photo. I don’t think bridesmaid dresses get any prettier, and the florals in this wedding are beyond stunning.

    • One sick kid, one heat wave, one million ants in our laundry room... You win Monday. Sometimes you just gotta put the work away, or step away from the piles of laundry, and get outside for a reset. Or look at photos of bougainvillea from when you could get outside #wavingthewhiteflagtoday #tomorrowisanewday Summer. Heat wave. Mandatory. #calvinsfirstcone #calvins2ndyear
When your shades and your shirt are meant to be #charlesdashiell On weekends, we nurse, cuddle, and nap together and it is my favorite. With the other boys I was always trying to get stuff done while they were napping. Since this is my last baby, I'm trying to really soak up all the moments I can -- one day I'll have plenty of time to get stuff done. For now I'll just be a hot mess that made the most of this baby time. Whenever I get a bit anxious about not getting things done, I re-read my favorite poem about motherhood: Mother, oh mother, come shake out your cloth! Empty the dustpan, poison the moth, Hang out the washing and butter the bread, Sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking! Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby, loo). Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo). The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue? (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.) Oh, cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby. Babies don't keep. Song for a Fifth Child By Ruth Hulburt Hamilton #battlefieldmotherhood #mommaandquincyselfies
