    {Inspiration Board} White Washed Wood, Linen + Bone

    white washed autumn wedding inspiration from oh lovely day

    {palette} white washed wood, bone, and linen combine with the stark bare trees, the antlers, and white pumpkins and florals to make for a hauntingly beautiful autumn wedding
    {inspiration} this palette and style would be perfect for a more formal fall wedding.  Want to incorporate fall details without it being all “orange pumpkins?”  Antlers, white pumpkins, and a white washed palette instantly makes fall super chic!

    Love the anters?  Check out these different ways to incorporate antlers into your wedding.

    {Real Wedding} Lauren & Robby: A Quirky + Relaxed Winery Wedding

    This couple wanted to keep things simple and relaxed and do most of their wedding themselves.  The florals were DIY, the decor and signs were DIY, the bride even made the groom’s tie, and the groom made all four types of beer served to the guests.  The bride even got a wedding day tattoo of the groom’s initials behind her ear.  That’s love!

    {favorite moment of the day}
    During the processional, when my father and I were coming up through the vineyard, Robby and I had asked the DJ to play the bridal march, then scratch the disc, and play the imperial march from Star Wars. I am a bit of a dork, but mostly thought it would be hilarious to have this ominous sound track playing as I approached the altar. Everyone started laughing and my nervousness disappeared completely (OK, almost completely). It took some of the seriousness out of the affair and reminded me that we were here to celebrate, and to be ourselves.

    {how did you make your wedding you?}
    We wanted to have a relaxed feel to our wedding. Robby and I have been together for 5 years, own a home together, have a pup together, so we kind of did things backwards when compared to tradition. We wanted to have a celebration of our union and to bring together our friends and family for a beautiful party. A stuffy formal ballroom just wouldn’t have felt appropriate. We lucked out with absolutely gorgeous weather, fine friends, and a truly great experience.

    Don’t you love those bright yellow bouquets, and the DIY florals with the DIY painted mason jar containers?  And I so love the bride’s style – that birdcage veil, Claire Pettibone gown, rosette shoes, all on such a gorgeous bride.  And what a fun sense of humor – I’ve never heard of anyone playing the Imperial March from Star Wars as the Processional, and it might be the best thing ever.  I love that they let their personalities shine through, and created some humor in a usually super serious moment.

    {Real Wedding} Catherine & Foster: Modernly Classic Yellow + Grey Wedding at Home

    The planning of this wedding was a family affair.  The bride lives in a remote town near Yosemite with very little internet access, so aside from a few requests (like the Talking Heads tribute band ‘Same as it Ever Was”) she let her mother plan the entire wedding at her parent’s home.  And if you ask me, her mother should start a wedding business, because she did a fabulous job herself & in hiring the perfect vendors to bring her vision to a reality.  This is one of my favorite weddings I’ve featured, so sit down with a coffee or iced tea and enjoy this swoon-worthy, pin-every-photo wedding, and be inspired!

    The bride’s other must-have for her wedding, a cheese wheel cake.  Says the bride:
      I don’t care much for cake, but I LOVE cheese!”

    My dress was originally a mermaid gown that I purchased and had altered by Ballew Bridal in Collierville, TN. She cut it off right at the flare and pulled the lace from the bottom to created the lacy hemline. Mrs. Ballew was amazing, I never imagined that part of the wedding would so easy. I did not realize that no one makes short wedding dresses either!

    The bride and groom love games, and wanted something unique for their guestbook that they wouldn’t mind hauling around when the move.  I’d like to believe that I inspired the jenga guestbook with my jenga guestbook post from two years ago :)

    We used a ton of stuff my mom already had: vases, candle holders, chandeliers, etc. We did not rent anything except tables, chairs and table cloths.  We found the runners and napkin in our wedding colors.

    I love these cork centerpieces – just a large vase filled with corks!
    And how fun would it be to drink the wine to collect the corks?

    Here’s more from the bride on the DIY elements:  I handmade heart shaped birdseed favors because my husband and I love bird watching.  My mom and a friend made pillow cases in yellow and gray to cover some of the outdoor furniture pillows and coordinate with the theme.  I handmade the signs that went with the favors and guesbook using extra invitations I had left over.
    SO amazing, right?  Love the color palette (one of my favorites!), and mixed with patterned pillows and graphic elements on the stationery and signs it is absolute perfection.  The florals are fab, the styling is ridiculously gorg, and all of the personal details are just icing, on a cheese wheel cake!  I’d like to give every person and vendor involved with the execution of this lovely wedding a standing ovation.  Join me by leaving a comment of your favorite part of this wedding!
