    Industrial Glam Wedding Inspiration

Industrial Glam Wedding Inspiration | Query Events + Whitley Danielle Photography

I love when wedding professionals take two very different ideas, and make them work together beautifully. In today’s shoot we’ve got a very industrial setting paired with very glamorous details and it is hard not to fall in love with it. A brick wall next to sequin linens – yes, please! A simple, almost masculine venue as the setting for an ultra-glam and feminine event? Sign me up! And don’t even get me started on each individual stunning detail. There’s so much pretty, your eyes aren’t even ready for it. But check it out anyways :) Read More »

    Disney-Inspired Wedding

Disney-inspired wedding | Sun & Sparrow Photography | Oh Lovely Day

When I get a submission from Sun & Sparrow, I always know it is going to be a good wedding. Well, today is no different. I’ve got the cutest little Disney-inspired wedding for you, with such a fun-loving vibe and some fabulous bridesmaids dresses.  And since I’m a weekly visitor of Disneyland with my family lately (in Southern California you can get special passes to go frequently on “off” days), I’ve been really inspired by the happiest place on earth myself. And I can totally see how it could inspire a wedding! Read More »

    Gold + Black Wedding Inspiration

Today’s guest poster is my dear friend Chrissy with a color palette that is one of my absolute favorites! Enjoy :)

Well hello there Oh Lovely Day readers! Chrissy from The Perfect Palette here! Just stopping by to share a little color inspiration while Chandra is away! Looking for wedding day colors that are classic, elegant, and all kinds of pretty? Shades of black and gold always have me at hello. And I’m hoping you can see why?

I think what I love most is that there’s really no shortage of pretty possibilities when it comes to bringing this lovely color palette to life! Like this beautiful lantern send off for instance. Nothing could capture this color palette better than the gorgeous glow of these lanterns as they contrast against the dark, night sky. Oh, and I can’t go without mentioning this beauty of a cake. Goodness! That almost looks too pretty to eat! Am I right?

So tell me… what sort of colors evoke a classic elegance in your mind? And might you use a classic palette like this one for your upcoming wedding and/or party? I’d love to hear your ideas!

Looking for more wedding color ideas? Be sure to hop on over to The Perfect PaletteI promise there’s a whole lot of color inspiration just waiting to be explored! And I’d love to help you find the perfect palette for your special day!

{Inspiration Board} Coral + Metallics: A Wedding Inspired by Oh Lovely Day’s Look from Burnett’s Boards

Aloha! Sara from Burnett’s Boards stopping by today.  I was bowled over and so honored when Chandra asked me to guest post here on Oh Lovely Day! I’ve been a long time fan of this blog and so when it got its facelift a couple months back I feel in love with it all over again. I love the colors on this site’s design: the coral-y orange, gold, hint of silver – it’s perfect, fresh, and modern! I wanted to create a wedding inspiration board that complimented the gorgeous look of this blog. Enjoy!

*A huge thanks to Sara for this gorgeous board – and for loving Oh Lovely Day’s look and colors so much that she designed a board inspired by it.  Love that!  Sara makes lots of lovely boards over at Burnett’s Boards – be sure to check them out!

    • #tbt to one week ago. At 38.5 weeks, my water broke at 1:30 am (can you believe that my water broke with Charlie at 39 weeks at 2:30 am!?) A long and sometimes difficult pregnancy was followed by a much shorter and easier labor & delivery - pretty much the opposite experience than my first time around. At 9:50 am, Calvin Michael was born. I'll share his full birth story eventually because it was such a different and enjoyable experience. I loved that I got to have Calvin on me right away (complications didn't allow that with Charlie but I literally pulled Cal out of me and laid him on my chest). I was so emotional and completely happy and in love. Happy 1 week Calvin. I so love being your momma.
Wore Calvin for the first time today with my @sollybabywrap. I haven't perfected the newborn carry yet but found it fairly easy to use. And for me, this is so much better than the Moby wrap I used with Charlie because the fabric is thinner and cooler and there is less of it. I used to get so hot in it, and I took Calvin outside in this and we were totally fine. Probably just a personal preference. Looking forward to doing this more often and trying a couple other wraps I have as well - he's still sleeping on me in it as I post this. So, the @sollybabywrap is Calvin approved.
