Today’s dreamy beach vow renewal is full of beach wedding inspiration and might have you longing for a simple destination affair. This couple really wanted to celebrate their anniversary with a vow renewal on the island of Saipan, where they have lived for over a year, because they felt like they wanted to include the island and their new “family” there in their marriage. I love that idea, and the stunning images from Mylyn Wood Photography
I love Lauren’s beach chic bridal style – her hair is perfection and the florals could not be a better match.
Here’s more from the couple:
This little island has special significance to us. We haven’t lived here long (only a year) but our lives have changed so much since coming here. We’ve found some of the greatest people to share our lives with and as a couple we have grown more than we ever had before. With our anniversary nearing we entertained the idea of renewing our vows. At first it was just an idea we threw around but the more we thought about it the more important it became to us. We really wanted the island itself to be well represented since it was here that our marriage has been strengthened and here that we met our new “family.” The flametrees have very great meaning on the island and they represent deep love and passion. Since they were already in season we decided it would be the perfect way to incorporate this wonderful new home of ours. It was important to us that only those who touched our lives significantly would be there so it was very casual and very small. We lined our favorite beach with family quilts and blankets, made an aisle runner from coral pieces and adorned the natural cave with the firey red blooms from the flametrees. It was here that we spoke boldly, honestly and humbly about our lives, our love and our gratitude for each other. A special opening was given by my best friend and love song was played to us on the ukulele. To us, this became more significant than our original wedding and it meant everything to us that we were able to do it in such an authentic way in front of those dearest to us. Afterwards we shared toasts with champagne, and shared stories and s’mores as we watched the most beautiful pink sunset fall upon the water. We ate the most delicious cake from our favorite local bakery that was adorned with local seaglass from our favorite beaches.
Many congrats and happy wishes to Lauren & Matt!
