    Art Deco DIY Tucson Wedding

    Art Deco DIY Tucson Wedding

I’ve featured a lot of weddings here on Oh Lovely Day, and I do them less than I used to since I have made room for more home, baby, and lifestyle features. So it sort of takes a lot to get me excited in the world of weddings. Well, when Camarie submitted her own wedding to me and I saw the photos I’m sharing today I could not wait to feature them. This wedding is Gatsby-meets-Anthropologie set right in the middle of the Tucson desert. It’s beyond fab. And full of lots of love, which is always my favorite wedding detail.

Valentine’s Day Marsala + Gold Wedding Inspiration

Valentine's Day Marsala Wedding Inspiration | Studio Dizon, Blissful2Be + Candy Crush Shop | Oh Lovely Day

At first I didn’t know how much I loved Pantone’s Color of the Year, but that’s before I saw how much potential Marsala really had. Today’s Valentine’s Day wedding inspiration proves me so wrong. It showed me that Marsala can be glamorous. Marsala can be elegant. Marsala can be romantic. And Marsala has an edge. And there’s so much in today’s shoot to be inspired by: gold animal drink stirs, pretty hand lettering, the mixing of fabrics in the table linens, gorgeous florals with vibrant pops of color, and a stunner of a bridal gown – to name a few. While the romance and the shades of pink and red fit a Valentine’s Day theme, this would really work well for a wedding or event any time of year. Read More »

    Romantic Sundance Wedding

Romantic Sundance Wedding | Jenna Bechtholt Photography

If I had to choose just one word to describe today’s real wedding, it would have to be romantic. From the florals and the bride’s style to the rustic Sundance venue and candlelight, everything is just so full of romance. And jaw-droppingly pretty. There aren’t any photos of the ceremony because the couple had a traditional LDS ceremony inside of their temple (and photographers aren’t allowed) but it just makes the photos of the couple coming out of the temple as a married couple that much more romantic as well. And really, can we talk about that bouquet and the bride’s simple floral crown for the reception? I’m in love.  Read More »

    Industrial Glam Wedding Inspiration

Industrial Glam Wedding Inspiration | Query Events + Whitley Danielle Photography

I love when wedding professionals take two very different ideas, and make them work together beautifully. In today’s shoot we’ve got a very industrial setting paired with very glamorous details and it is hard not to fall in love with it. A brick wall next to sequin linens – yes, please! A simple, almost masculine venue as the setting for an ultra-glam and feminine event? Sign me up! And don’t even get me started on each individual stunning detail. There’s so much pretty, your eyes aren’t even ready for it. But check it out anyways 🙂 Read More »

On weekends, we nurse, cuddle, and nap together and it is my favorite. With the other boys I was always trying to get stuff done while they were napping. Since this is my last baby, I'm trying to really soak up all the moments I can -- one day I'll have plenty of time to get stuff done. For now I'll just be a hot mess that made the most of this baby time. Whenever I get a bit anxious about not getting things done, I re-read my favorite poem about motherhood: Mother, oh mother, come shake out your cloth! Empty the dustpan, poison the moth, Hang out the washing and butter the bread, Sew on a button and make up a bed. Where is the mother whose house is so shocking? She's up in the nursery, blissfully rocking! Oh, I've grown as shiftless as Little Boy Blue (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby, loo). Dishes are waiting and bills are past due (Pat-a-cake, darling, and peek, peekaboo). The shopping's not done and there's nothing for stew And out in the yard there's a hullabaloo But I'm playing Kanga and this is my Roo. Look! Aren't her eyes the most wonderful hue? (Lullaby, rockaby, lullaby loo.) Oh, cleaning and scrubbing will wait till tomorrow, But children grow up, as I've learned to my sorrow. So quiet down, cobwebs. Dust, go to sleep. I'm rocking my baby. Babies don't keep. Song for a Fifth Child By Ruth Hulburt Hamilton #battlefieldmotherhood #mommaandquincyselfies Saturday mornings are about bros, basketball and babywearing. Side note: loving the ring sling for babywearing in this heatwave. It's the least hot of all of my babywearing options. #mywildbird #babywearing #quincyrhys #OLDsfavefinds
