{Styled Shoot} Rooftop Modern Silhouette New York City Wedding

It seems funny to call a city wedding a breath of fresh air, but today’s rooftop modern wedding shoot is just that. While I love a rustic barn wedding as much as most of you do, I also love to see something different. And I love mixing styles and ideas too, and this wedding has vintage touches using silhouettes throughout but combined them with an urban setting and did it all in a modern way. And you’re going to die over this laser cut ceremony canopy!

I love how modern and fashion forward this inspiration shoot is and how it takes something like silhouettes and makes them fresh again. The purple is so on point for fall too – you’re going to see LOTS of purple, I’m predicting! Between the bridal gown, the die cut ceremony canopy, and the silhouette details, I really can’t pick a favorite thing, can you? Everything was done to perfection by Roey Mizrahi and captured beautifully by Amber Gress.

{Styled Shoot} Vintage World Travel Wedding

I love vintage, I love travel, and I love weddings. So today’s styled shoot sent to me by Tiffany Walsh with Wedding 101 Nashville is pretty much a no brainer. I’m a big fan of vintage globes and maps, so the map paper airplanes, the maps decoupaged onto the plates, and the globe altar decor are hitting my sweet spot. Here’s a little about the shoot concept from Tiffany:

Since this couple is planning to travel all over Europe on their honeymoon, we gave them a glimpse of what their day could look like with our Old World Travel theme at Natchez Hills Vineyard’s beautiful estate, just south of Nashville in Hampshire, TN. With the help of a slew of vintage suitcases, globes, old books, cameras, and map paper airplanes, the vineyard was transported back in time for the celebration for Katie & Doug’s special unity. The warm Tennessee sun gave a romantic glow to the couple strolling and embracing among the grapevines, lounging on a Victorian sofa, and goofing off in the vintage photobooth – travel gnomes and all! Our favorite moment was a special twist on the traditional unity candle: the bride and groom placed a bottle of wine, two glasses and notes written to one another into a custom-made wooden box and nailed it shut – only to be opened on their ten year wedding anniversary. Helen Keller says, “Life is either a great adventure or nothing.” After this shoot, Katie and Doug are well on their way to a beautiful wedding day and a honeymoon abroad that will the beginning of many great adventures in their lives.

I love this idea for an anniversary shoot, incorporating places you’ve traveled together or went on your honeymoon as well. Anyone else love maps and globes as much as I do?

{Styled Shoot} Modernly Chic Palm Springs Wedding from Something Events

Today’s shoot is perfectly timed with the launch of our new look. It is a breath of fresh air in styled shoots, with it’s funky modern style, chic color palette , and DIY inspiration. Plus, it totally matches the new Oh Lovely Day! I love the pops of color, the quirky touches, and the chic style. The succulents, the chevron, the color…oh my!

Today’s styled shoot was inspired by vintage elements paired with luxe styling and Spanish details. And the huge California oak trees at the ranch venue really set the scene. I thought this could inspire you in anything from a fabulous dinner party to a gorgeous ranch wedding.

Aren’t those oak trees so romantic? And I love the spanish-inspired details and lush florals. Such a perfect pairing with the pretty vintage touches.
