    {Styled Shoot} A Wanderlove Wedding: Inspiration for a Simple + Gorgeous Day

Today’s style shoot is one of those submissions that I get where I can’t believe my pretty-loving eyes!  I look at it and think: this is magazine-worthy and I am humbled that I get to share it with you.  And while styled shoots are often critisized for being over-the-top and unattainable, this shoot is the opposite: completely simple and absolutely lovely.  Can you tell I’m crushing on this shoot just a bit?

Here is the fictional concept from the photographer, Emma from Rose Wheat Photography:

Laura and Jordan, travelers for the past ten years, stumble upon the hills of Manhattan, Kansas. It is here that they realize, while walking down a trail that they have fallen in love. Jordan knew she was the woman he wanted to spend the rest of his life with, to travel with forever. Upon this realization, they decide to get married as soon as possible, using only the possessions in their suitcase (which included a gorgeous wedding gown, of course!) With bread and wine, they commune, a foot-washing they unite, and a with a kiss they seal their union.

It just doesn’t get any prettier than that! And what perfect inspiration and lovely message to give to planning couples: all you need is a ceremony + each other to have a perfect wedding.  The rest is just icing on the wedding cake.  I also have to say that if I ever get married again (to the same fella, of course!) I want to look just like this bride.  I want her gorgeous gown, dainty floral crown, and beautiful hair and makeup – perfection!

If you want even more, head over to Rose Wheat’s blog for a poem and song that go with the Wanderlove story.

Side note: the handsome couple in this shoot is actually a real-life married couple & they just so happen to be celebrating their wedding anniversary TODAY!  So, can we all say *popping bubbly* cheers to them?  Many congrats!

{Styled Shoot} Vintage Farm-to-Table Wedding in Southern California

I think styled shoots can be a great opportunity for planning brides to get inspired or find ideas they can make their own.  My favorite styled shoots are simple, budget-friendly, and full of pretty.  Today’s vintage farm-to-table inspired shoot is no exception.  Here’s a bit about the concept from the vendors involved.

Rustic vintage elegance was the theme for this Southern California wedding shoot by ae martin photography and Leslie Miller Event Design. The details were inspired by sweet romance and the carefree days.

The hors d’ouvres table was adorned with vintage classic books, antique tea cups, and mason jars filled with lavender lemonade.  Kiwi slices were added for a dash of summer green.  The chef from Heirloom Gatherings chose simple yet delicious and colorful treats like bruschetta, cheese boards, and s’mores for dessert.  French macarons added a classic sweet touch.  The dinner table, set in a quiet meadow, was full of hand-me-down china and glassware.  Old fashioned ink well jars served as candle holders.  Homemade blackberry jam jars and candied almond satchels for favors finished the look.

The florals by Flowerchild were designed with a soft natural color palette, including pink blush roses, dusty miller, white dahlias, bay leaves, lavender, and amarathus hand-tied with ivory ribbon, pearls, and embellished with a vintage broach.  The bride’s hair was set in soft curls adorned with handmade hair pieces by Acute Designs.  The bride wore several different dresses; a classic Maggie Sottero, a flirty tea length gown hand made by Peppermint Pretty, and a trendy blush colored Rodarte.  Her shoes, of course, were old cowboy boots.  Her earrings were handmade from crystals recycled from an old wedding gown.  The groom’s textured tan clothing and suspenders fit in perfectly with the farm setting.

I honestly don’t know what I love the most from this shoot.  The bouquet is perfection, those dresses (especially that blush Rodarte!) are fab, and that beautifully set table in a meadow…I die!  And I love the farm-to-table menu.  In fact, it inspired a post I’ll be sharing next week, so be sure to check back.  Hint: it might be a little cheesy.

{Styled Shoot} Ethereal Pastel Bridal Shoot

I don’t feature a lot of styled shoots or a lot of bridal shoots, but when I received this submission I knew I had to feature it just for the pastel stained glass window alone – not to mention the gorgeous photos, lovely florals, and dreamy dresses and bridal beauty!  Kamee June just wanted to do a shoot for herself that was pretty and creative and something she loved, and this was the end result.  There are three different bridal looks in two different color palettes.  I think both inspire different ideas and feelings.  I hope it inspires you as well.

Aren’t these just so gorgeous!?  I’m in love with every single detail.  Tell me, how does it inspire you?
