When the day that lies ahead of me Seems impossible to face When someone else instead of me Always seems to know the way Then I look at you And the world's alright with me Just one look at you And I know it's gonna be A lovely day.....
Hiking always makes me feel better and clears my head. I've been struggling with some post-weaning PPD the last week or so. I want to talk about it more on the blog when I get out of it but it is a real thing and it is rough. Some days are ok but some are debilitating. I remembered a post @joannagoddard wrote about her experience a while ago so I went back and read it, as well as my own PPD post on my blog from my experience after Charlie. Both helped remind me that this is quite common though not discussed enough. So I'm trying to kill two birds with one stone with a #breakingupwiththebabyweight hike and getting my endorphins flowing too. And then I spotted this new bench along my usual trail and it made me smile and cry at the same time. In case you can't read the inscription, it says: "this bench welcomes all who hike in the wonderous Griffith Park, especially nursing mothers and babies. In honor of the beloved Dr. Paul M. Fleiss (1933-2014)." ❤️ that so much.
