• Submit a Wedding


    Thanks so much for your interest in sharing your work and/or wedding day with the Oh Lovely Day readers! We are looking to share beautiful weddings full of personality: whether they are vintage, modern, glamorous, rustic or whimsical – we love them all! As long as your wedding is unique and shows your personality, it is our style. Below are some of the common questions we get in the types of weddings we are looking to share here on Oh Lovely Day.

    What we love:
    • Couples with personalities that really shine through in the photos
    • Creativity
    • A love of the little details
    • Stunning locations and unique venues

    And most importantly, we want to see lots of love.

    Some things I don’t tend to feature: ball room weddings, hotel receptions with a lot of uplighting, stuff I’ve featured many times before (nothing personal, I just like to feature fresh content and ideas), standard and completely traditional weddings or events with no personal details, boudoir, or bridal shoots.

    Types of Submissions we share on Oh Lovely Day:
    • Real Weddings
    • Unique, Stylish & Fun Engagement and Anniversary Shoots
    • DIY Ideas + Tutorials
    • Styled Shoots showcasing a fresh and new idea

    Here’s what we require for submissions:

    How many images?
    If it’s a wedding or styled shoot please submit 60-150 photos including detail shots, portraits, ceremony and reception.
    For engagement + anniversary sessions, 30-60 images is plenty.
    *Note, If you are a bride/groom submitting your wedding, please make sure you have permission to share your photos from your photographer first and make sure they haven’t already submitted it elsewhere!

    What type of information should I send?
    Please send a list of your wedding vendors/artists with their website links, any special DIY projects for the day, and/or any other special things to note. (For weddings, I love to know your favorite moment of the day, music choices, any advice you have for brides planning now, and what make your wedding ‘you’).

    What size photos?
    Images should be 650 pixels across and without watermarks.  We also do not accept images with stylized finishes or that have been collaged together.

    Who do I send them to?
    Since Oh Lovely Day receives hundreds of submissions each month, Two Bright Lights is my preferred method of receiving and reviewing submissions. The ease of use allows me to review your work sooner than traditional email submissions and for you to include all of the photos and information I need in one place.  If you prefer to submit your work via email, send it to submissions [at] ohlovelyday.com and include “SUBMISSION and what type” in the subject line. Please send your photos via dropbox to chandra.ohlovelyday{at}gmail.com.

    We are looking to share exclusive features on Oh Lovely Day.
    I am always searching for new and unique content to share here on Oh Lovely Day, so please let me know in advance if you have submitted this to other blogs or if it has already been featured elsewhere. We are looking for features to share that are exclusive to Oh Lovely Day. As such, once your feature has been accepted for publication on here we do ask for a 90 day window of exclusivity from your publication date before you submit to another blog or magazine.

    When will I know if my wedding (or other submission) is going to be featured?
    I truly appreciate you sharing your wedding day/work with me! If I think your wedding or engagement session is a good fit for Oh Lovely Day, I will contact you within 2 weeks of your submission date to let you know it has been selected to be featured. If you don’t hear anything from me within that time, please go ahead and submit your wedding/work elsewhere. Due to the large amount of submissions I receive on a daily basis, I’m unable to respond personally to each and every email – although I do try my best! Please know I review every submission which comes through my inbox and just because the submission you sent over this time wasn’t a right fit for my readers – it doesn’t mean I wouldn’t love to feature a submission from you at some point in the future. Often the wedding or event details aren’t a fit, but I love your work! So just because this one wasn’t a fit doesn’t mean your next one won’t be. Please keep submitting. Also, once I have accepted a submission there is typically a 2+ month waiting period until your feature runs. I always email you with a set date once I’ve scheduled your feature for publication so you won’t miss it, so don’t worry!

       My new @madebymarywithlove necklace came today - all three boys on one bar. I love seeing their names together like this  Also, when you had hair and makeup done courtesy of a photoshoot and you are 10 days postpartum, you have to memorialize it with a selfie. Because tomorrow I'll turn back into a postpartum pumpkin in my pjs, with no makeup and unwashed hair.
