I’m so in love with today’s vow renewal feature. The vibrant colors, the cultural influences, the fact that it’s a vow renewal planned by the husband – so much to love! Here’s a bit about the inspiration behind the day:
We fell in love with the little folk art chapel while out on a taco and beer adventure. We love Day of the Dead inspired art and bright colors so the location was fitting for the look and feel we always wanted our wedding to be. Maybe it was not realistic to have just ONE amazing wedding or day of amazing memories, so we figured, why not have new memories and get married all over again? We also certainly were not complaining about margarita breaks in between shots!
Why a vow renewal? From Veronica:
My husband just surprised me with a new wedding ring, a 7 carat rough cut diamond and he planned our vow renewal as a surprise. We got married three years ago at the Beverly Hills courthouse and now have two amazing sons and a very busy family life. This was a special day to celebrate just the two of us, renew our vows, dress up, have cake and take fun wedding portraits. My Husband, Peter, took care of all the arrangements; he ordered a beautiful hand painted cake, as well as a gorgeous bouquet and head-piece. This was all his surprise and I asked him the same thing, to which he replied, “I showed you I needed you in my life forever when I asked you to marry me and be mine always, and I will show you every chance I get”. Our lives are very hectic with both professional and family responsibilities, so this was his way of helping us remember that just because things get tough, or hectic or even scary, we would not change any thing and promise to be there for one another no matter what.
Don’t you just love that? I showed this to my husband while I was editing this for today’s feature, and read Veronica’s words, hinting for my own surprise vow renewal (and 7 carat ring!) But what is really important, beside’s Peter’s amazing taste, is his reminder of what marriage is all about. We forget about that these days and often lose focus on what’s important.
Props again to Peter for putting this beauty together. I’m so completely impressed (can you give lessons to other husbands?!) And there’s SO much more in the gallery, so be sure to check it out.
